Missouri Basic 500 watt, 12 or 24 volt, DC output, 5 blade wind turbine for 12 or 24 volt battery charging

Blades begin to spin at only 5 mph - wind zone 2 - and begins making power immediately!
Our turbines do not "furl" (turn out of the wind) in high winds. Our turbine stays cool with the open face design and have blades that are made in the USA and rated to take over 120mph winds. They just keep on making more power. Furling wind turbines need a very expensive thick and rigid tower that must remain perfectly level for the furling system to work. If something goes wrong with the furling mechanism the turbine can overspeed, burn up, and in worst cases lose it's blades! Another system that is prone to failure is mechanical or electrical brakes. Electrical braking shorts out the windings in the turbine motor which causes a near dead halt of the blades, and an extreme heat build up in the wind turbine motor. Electrical braking has been known to shear off even new blades of any size. From experience we found that it is much better to divert the excess power with a diversion charge controller. A proper diversion diversion charge controller such as ours essentially "burns" off excess power from the batteries as it is being made which causes no extra stress on a wind turbine's blades, or motor. The extra energy can be sent to any of our diversion loads such as resistor/heaters, dc water heating elements, dc room heaters, or small inexpensive grid feed inverters. See our inverters category for more information on grid feeding with wind. We do carry these items under their respective categories.

  • Victory permanent magnet alternator DC output.
  • 125,000 hours+ of rated bearing life.(New bearings cost only $3.00)
  • Blades are 60" diameter
  • Tail fin is 16 gauge steel 13" x 9"
  • Single tail arm
  • Weighs 29 lbs
  • Ships in one 30" x 10" x 8" box
  • Proudly machined in Missouri by Americans

Permanent Magnet Alternator Specifications:

The most powerful permanent magnet alternator for its size on the market!
  • Basic model outptut can exceed 500 watts plus
  • Standard 17mm shaft
  • 100% solid core zinc plated rotor design with air flow holes for cooler operation
  • low wind start-up
  • Smoother operation with flywheel power boost
  • Housing bolts treated with anti-seize to prevent dissimilar metal corrosion
  • Blades are not overloaded at low RPM, turns faster for more amps
  • Above 500 watts if you have zone 2 winds or above; power rated when using Raptor G4 blades.
  • Easy start-up in zone 1 winds or higher depending on blade set.

To obtain maximum output from our wind turbines your tower needs to be a minimum of 60 foot high in a clearing, free from obstructions like buildings and trees. Your wind turbine should be above tree tops and buildings. Wind turbines mounted on roof tops or connected to the end of buildings will see considerably less output due to turbulent wind "dirty wind ". RULE , the higher the better. Even though you may not be able to have a 60 foot tower battery charging is still obtainable on roof tops and short towers . The wind can blow 24 hours a day while solar is limited to 8 hours or less. 1 small wind turbine cannot equal the output of 10 solar panels. Our wind turbines do not furl which means they can keep producing power in high winds unlike turbines that are designed to shut down at 30 mph using an electrical brake or furling. Our Raptor Generation 4 â„¢ wind turbine blades are self regulating and have been tested to 125 mph winds by us. Less blades equal higher rpms ,more output but higher winds for startup. More blades equal lower wind speed startups but less output in higher winds. Our wind turbines perform the best in wind zones 2 to 7. Our wind turbines are capable of producing 500 to 2000 watts plus instantaneously in high wind gusts. If your intending on installing your wind turbine in a low wind area or in a bad location such as roof top or behind a building it will still work for battery charging just at a much lower charging rate and time.

Wind Turbine Warranty:
1 year day limited warranty does not cover abuse, neglect, or damage due to tornadoes, hurricanes or tower failures or objects being thrown into turbine such as but not limited to flying debris, branches etc.

Does not cover rust and corrosion. All parts are covered for 90 days from date of purchase from manufacture defects, bad workmanship and faulty parts. Defective part must be returned at the owner's expense to Missouri Wind and Solar within 90 days from date of purchase. All claims must be accompanied with original invoice. All installations must be done by a qualified installer. Warranty does not cover performance. Warranty is non transferable, it applies to the original purchaser only.

We believe in the quality of our Raptor Generation 4 wind turbine blades so much, we’re now giving a lifetime warranty against them breaking - for any reason! See the details below.

Blade warranty:
Limited lifetime warranty - Limited terms for all Raptor Generation 4 wind turbine blade warranty. Guaranteed for a lifetime not to break under normal use.

Cracked or broken blades will be replaced for free! We only warranty blades if they break under normal use. Our blades can last 75 years in the sun (lifetime).

We do not recommend using our raptor blades with any hub made less than the hubs recommended on our site.

Warranty does not apply due to a tower fall, over tightening of bolts, or striking debris from tornado or hurricanes, falling trees. Warranty only applies when our blades are used with our blade hubs only.
